Tejano Conjunto Festival

Camaradas, once again I'm working with the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center in producing the upcoming 29th Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival en San Antonio 2010 which will be held May 11-15 at the the Guadadalupe Theater and Rosedale Park. An important part of the festival is its Poster Contest. We're looking for talented visual artists and graphic designers (jr. high, high school, college and open categories) to participate in this poster contest. The Overall Winner receives $1,000.00 cash and their design becomes the official poster for this year's Tejano Conjunto Festival. Cash awards will also be given to the Top Selections and Honorable Mentions in each category. Deadline for submissions is February 19.

Also, we're looking for some literature on conjunto music for possible publication in the TCF program magazine (see attached). All writers and writings will be considered: poemas, short stories, scholarly articles, interviews, your favorite conjunto recuerdo, etc., in Spanish, English, or both, as long as it has to do with some aspect of conjunto music.
